Family-centered, faith-grounded, trauma-informed research driving prevention, healing, and systems change.

Mission

My mission is to strengthen the well-being of children, families, and communities across Africa and Latin America by advancing trauma‑informed, culturally grounded, and faith‑engaged approaches to care. I provide research, workforce development, and evidence‑based training, consultation, and coaching that equip caregivers, practitioners, and community leaders with the skills they need to prevent violence, promote resilience, and foster child and youth flourishing. Through collaborative partnerships and locally led solutions, I work to translate science into practice and practice into policy, ensuring that every child grows up supported, safe, and able to thrive.

Research

In my research, I take a special interest in addressing the interrelationships between family, mental health, faith, and social justice issues for caregivers of children and adolescents in the Global South and immigrant communities in the US.

Speaking

I speak, research and advocate on issues related to parenting, child and family well-being, internal displacement, community violence, immigration enforcement and trauma.
